Hello Tweeters -

Gee, haven't even posted the great birds we saw in Othello last weekend!
We saw plenty of Sandhill Cranes - love their voices and got to see them do a few dance moves and jumps. I only wish my photos came out. A very nice local man stopped while we were birding along the road and asked if we'd "like to see them closer"...well he took us acrossthe street to his farm and there were several sitting right there! We did follow the WA Birders Guide and saw many more.

Also got to see a Loggerhead Shrike, American Kestrel. At the Para Ponds, saw Blacknecked Stilts, Marsh Wrens, Scaups, Bufflehead - a very cool place.

Our last evening there, a few ladies came in from their County Count (Ruth and ??? - please email me if you see this. ;-)) They gave us a hint on where to go to see a specialty and we
are most grateful for our success! Thank you! Our scope came in very handy there! They even knew me from Tweeters!! ;-)))

So, on to the RFI: Any suggestions where to stay in or near Ridgefield NWR? I'll check their website in the meantime.

Also met Janet and Orin from Lynnwood saying they are new birders - but doing a great job!

Birders are great!
