Hey Tweets...a very special day on the beach north of Ocean City access, a
pair of American Kestrels were perched side-by-side on a pole on top of the
dunes. I have not seen a kestrel on the beach before...close by, but only
one other sighting in the 16 years I have lived in Ocean Shores, and that
was a single bird not a pair. Quite amazing!

We also saw a whimbrel picking through the mounds of Villella that began
washing in over the weekend.

I drove back out there this afternoon at high tide and watched the
shorebirds flying from the inner bay to the outer coast. There were some
big groups...maybe 2,000 or more..mostly dunlin with some already showing
their black belly...but lots of sanderling, some least, and some Westerns.
