hi:

went over the hill sunday and was treated to a prairie falcon on e taneum
road near the funny bladed windmill a few miles from thorp in kittitas
county. there was a little male kestrel in the neighborhood at the same
time, and the subject bird was much bigger, so merlin was ruled out. it
was clearly not a peregrine.

got an email from scott dodson who saw the male sno falls peregrine showing
a possible nest site to a new female (chick?) up at the falls here in king
county. so far as i know the resident female is still there, so the future
could be interesting if the male and his new lady (assuming any or all of
the ids are correct) actually do set up shop.

scott has video posted at you tube. the tag for the clip is
watch?v=Zj1yTKHl3OA

attach that to youtubedaughtcom w an https leadin and all the appropriate
punctuation to see the video. the area in the video has a very old root or
branch coming out of the cliff face and is near the now destroyed raptor
nest the old pair destroyed raising a clutch a few years back.

regards,

t
