While eating lunch today north of Arlington, we looked out the window
to see a male Northern Harrier circle our back yard 3 or 4 times.
Then he dropped down behind some garden plants for a few seconds,
flew up and off to the ball field behind our house. We could see he
had caught something and later walked out to confirm that he'd gotten
one of the dozens of siskins around the yard.
We've seen him patrol the area (the females as well) but first time
he'd stopped in for lunch!
