Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

A bright male HOODED ORIOLE was recently photographed in Bend.

PINE GROSBEAKS continue to be reported from Santiam Pass. Incoming
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS and HOUSE WRENS were reported during the week.
CASPIAN TERNS are now moving northward along the coast.

On April 4 a GOLDEN EAGLE was at Brownsmead east of Astoria. A different
GOLDEN EAGLE was there last week. Among the migrant shorebirds at Ridgefield
NWR April 1 was a LONG-BILLED CURLEW and a Black-bellied plover. Three
LESSER YELLOWLEGS were there April 7.

On April 3 a pair of BLUE-WINGED TEAL were on Sauvie Island. An early
CASSIN?S VIREO was at Mt. Tabor Park in Portland April 3. A WARBLING VIREO,
also early, was seen April 5 in Portland?s Oaks Bottom. On April 6 a
CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD visited a feeder in Happy Valley east of Portland. On
April 4 a pair of BUE-WINGED TEAL and five CINNAMON TEAL were at Meadowlark
Prairie north of Eugene. A LESSER YELLOWLEGS and 26 GREATER YELLOWLEGS were
also in the area. On April 5 a CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was at a Eugene feeder.
That day a VAUX?S SWIFT was spotted in Eugene among a flock of swallows. On
April 8 a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER was at Eugene?s Skinner?s Butte. Three pairs
of GNATCATCHERS were seen April 3 in southern Douglas County. On April 8 a
CASSIN?S VIREO was at Hellgate Canyon west of Merlin.

ON March 29 two POORWILLS were calling west of Fossil. One was heard April 2
near Horse Ridge east of Bend.
