Hi Tweets:

Thirty-four bird species were seen on our morning walk along the Stillwater
trail in the Snoqualmie Valley, Friday, April 10. A handsome
White-throated Sparrow was seen and photographed near the trail accessed from the
Weiss Creek parking lot. Other birds seen there include: Pileated and Downy
Woodpecker, American Wigeon, Bewick's Wren, White-crowned, Golden-crowned and
Song Sparrow. Walking left from the parking lot nearest Stillwater Rd.,
we heard 4 American Bittern and saw 3 of them. A Virginia Rail skittered
through the foliage and a Wilson's Snipe made a quick landing and getaway.
Pied-billed Grebes could be heard producing an amazing number of
vocalizations. Other birds observed from the trail include Belted Kingfisher, Turkey
Vulture, Marsh Wren, several Ring-necked Ducks, and Rufous Hummingbird.
Common Yellowthroat, Mourning Dove, Hooded Merganser, Wood Duck and American
Coot were found along both sections of the Stillwater trail.
