Jim Danzenbaker and I took a quick trip around River S Unit this morning. Jim had a house wren yesterday just past the Hunter Gate and it was there this morning singing away on top of a ash tree. We did find two lesser yellowlegs, 50 long-billed dowitcher, 32 greater yellowlegs, 35 dunlin and 10 least and one western sandpiper. Also a peregrine falcon kept the ducks and shorebirds jumpy. Also notable the higher number of barn swallows.
