Jeff,
I wanted to submit a note in response to your classic post about Saskatoons, but for the life of me of cannot figure out how to post to Tweeters. Perhaps you could submit it for me?
I meant to email you about our non-meeting, but have not had a chance to compose it - will do so later. Meanwhile, the timing for what I wanted to submit to tweeters is more critical. Here is what I intended to say:

I have a well-worn copy of C P Lyons wonderful book ?Trees, Shrubs, and Flowers to know in British Columbia?. First printing is shown as 1952, and the Washington State version was first printed in 1956. My paperback edition, printed in 1973, cost me $2.95. Interestingly, as an eastern Canadian, I never heard Amelanchoir called Saskatoon until I came west - we called them 'sugar plums?.
