Subject: [Tweeters] Action to replace lost Purple Martin houses in Anacortes?

A friend writes:
"The Thanksgiving 2014 storm ripped 90 percent of the purple martin
houses off the pylons at the Guemes Channel" -- near the state ferry
landing in Anacortes. And another friend had "said she called someone at
Audubon last winter, and they said they'd replace them. Not one has been
replaced, and I think it's nearing the time that the birds return. Do
you know anyone who could see what can be done to speed up the replacement?"

Anyone on this list know more about this? Now that the Ship Harbor
Interpretive Trail goes by the martin houses, they are becoming better
known. It would be a shame to lose this Purple Martin colony.

Thanks for any info,

Kristi Hein
