Also had the first PURPLE MARTINS of the year at Marymoor, with at least 5 (2 males and 3 females) high over the NE corner of the lake, seen from the East Lake Sammamish Trail.

That?s our 2nd earliest Purple Martins. Last year, we had them on April 17th.

My morning NASHVILLE WARBLER is the earliest record for the park, beating 2009-04-21.

The TOWNSEND?S SOLITAIRE was just the park?s 5th record, all from mid-March to early-May.

With four new birds for 2015 (Band-tailed Pigeon, Purple Martin, Townsend?s Solitaire, ad Nashville Warbler), that puts us at 105 for the year.

I had 52 species despite a late start (8:45), walking solo, and the thousands of Sunday park visitors.

Just had a Townsend's Solitaire at Marymoor. This was in an area I don't go into often. Immediately south of the Rowing Club parking lot is an old driveway. Walk all the way down the two-track drive past the last power pole. When things open up a bit on your right, head SE towards all of the dead trees. It was in the older willows just before you end up getting your feet wet.

I also had NASHVILLE WARBLER from the boardwalk near the lake platform.

Near the mansion, a RED CROSSBILL was singing. I also had two BAND-TAILED PIGEONS fly overhead there.
