It is only a month until the 53rd annual Washington Audubon Council's Memorial Day Weekend event and all nature lovers are invited to attend, not just Audubon members. I am not aware of any other free Audubon camp out like this in the nation. This is a great free weekend of birding, wildflowers and socializing on the sunny east side of the Cascade Mountains. This is a perfect event for beginning birders and families but experienced birders can always find interesting places to explore and good birds to see. Campground birds include White-headed Woodpeckers, Poorwill and Calliope Hummingbirds among the over 200 species that have been found here. We would welcome more experienced nature lovers to share their knowledge on field trips or any type of workshop or event you would like to lead.
