Tweets ? I led a great group of 8 birders on a jaunt through Pierce County lowlands today, and we had a fine time.

Saddle Creek Remnant Oxbow (Fife):
Cinnamon Teal At least 2 drakes
Green Heron One high in a willow
Virginia Rail Two seen, more heard
American Kestrel One
Least Sandpiper A dozen
BLACK PHOEBE Heard calling, seen well, out from 39th St Ct E access

Levee Pond Park:
Cooper?s Hawk Cooperative adult

Riverside Park Disc Golf Course:
Nashville Warbler Heard singing; not seen
Black-throated Gray Warbler 1-2 heard, seen

Naches Trail Preserve (Fredrickson):
Purple Martin 2 males, female; well away from any big body of water

Spanaway Marsh:
Hermit Thrush Posed nicely on the ground
Red Crossbill Good looks in a fir

Mountain View Memorial Cemetery Marsh:
Sora At least 2 heard
Least Sandpiper 1 on northernmost stormwater pond
Wilson?s Snipe 2
Purple Martin Pair on wires; again, well away from big body of water

Fort Steilacoom Park:
Greater White-fronted Goose Six on main pond
Lincoln?s Sparrow Two chasing each other around oaks

Oakbrook Golf Course ? Sapphire Drive access:
ACORN WOODPECKER Two on far side of 10th green

Chambers Bay:
Greater Yellowlegs One
Western Gull One

Chambers Creek Canyon Trail:
Pacific-Slope Flycatcher One seen well, more heard
Wilson?s Warbler Male seen and heard well

Hylebos Waterway:
Caspian Tern About 5

We had a 6 warbler day, with Orange-crowned, Nashville, Yellow-rumped, Black-throated Gray, and Wilson?s Warbler, plus Common Yellowthroat.

For the day, we had around 94 species. Not too shabby.
