Hey Tweets!

It's been a loooong while since my last trip to The Mason, but it looks like it will be May 1-3, with El Dio Mucho Grande on the 2nd.

I'm fishing around to find birders that might want to join me... Especially for the big day on May 2nd. More fun and more eyes and ears would be great! I'd really like to have a skilled birder along who might be able to... You know... Discern all of the different feather things on any shorebirds we might encounter, but otherwise, this invitation is open to ordinary hacks like me who would be willing to spend a good full day exploring Mason County.

There have been a few good early reports of birds arriving, and I feel pretty dialed in with tides for shorebirds, so it seems like the kind of day that could go over 100 species pretty easily!

Oh! While I'm thinking about it... Anyone heading over to the Grays Harbor shorebird festival that weekend, if you wanted to take a peek at Kennedy Creek on the way, it would be great to have a little scouting info on what's passing through.

On a more local note, I walked a little of the Soos Creek trail today, and had an American Bittern calling just North of the access on 224th. First one for me on the trail!

Happy birding!
