First saw and photographed this curlew on Tuesday, July 28th at long distance, probably 1/4 mile. With a poor image to document the find.

Saturday, at around 9:15 AM the curlew was in the salt water surge plain near the start of the boardwalk and about 30-40 yards distant. Managed a much better image today. A good time for an early morning visit to Nisqually to see this rarity, also saw a handful of bald eagles, semipalmated plover, lesser yellowlegs, greater yellowlegs, dowitcher, western and least sandpipers, Osprey and Red-tailed hawk along with all the usuals.
