This website is run by the Bird Banding Laboratory where the data base
resides. The online information supplied by the observer usually results in
an immediate match to the data base where one can learn the origin of the
particular bird being reported. Besides that, you can opt to have a
certificate of appreciation printed for reporting "your" bird. That and
knowing that somewhere you have made a bander happy.
