Subject: [Tweeters] a birding trip report by captions - Barb & Ron Do CWA -

Decide to do my report through captions and not a long narrative - too weary to do a usual narrative (or even an unusual one). So, if you are interested in more than a quick run through the following album, you can click on one of the photos beneath the album title, and look below and to the left of the photo itself, to read a description - then, using the right or left arrow on that page, you can move to the next image and caption. If you use the slideshow mode of viewing, you can't see any captions or descriptions. This Flickr system of labeling photos isn't very good. Suggestions from any others of you who use the Flickr photoshare site, as to a better way to do labels, would be most welcomed.

Thanks and enjoy this trip from outside of Cle Elum (Dipper Bridge), to Swauk Prairie Rd in the Teanaway Valley, to Ellensburg, Yakima River Canyon Rd. to N. Wenas Rd, almost to the Wenas Campground, then on the dusty Wenas Rd away from the campground and finally to Umptanum Rd, back into Ellensburg and on home to Seattle.

A few notable bird sightings or soundings I left out, due to no photos, include: Great Blue Heron, Yellow Warbler, several Turkey Vultures, Northern Harrier, Wood Duck, Violet Green Swallow, Western Tanager, Bullock's Oriole, Brewer's Sparrow, Black-billed Magpie, Red-naped Sapsucker, Black-chinned Hummingbird, Common Raven and Red-breasted Nuthatch.

Photos of many of the other birds seen or heard, are the same as the ones Ron saw on his solo trip over there 12 days prior.

Hard to believe our trip last Monday was in the upper seventies, low eighties, and included time in the evening, up near Wenas Capmpground, when the wind and the lowering temps, caused both of us to layer up with fleece and other insulators - somehow, the word "Brrrr" is almost impossible to say at this moment, but it was easy then !!!
