This YouTube video, about banding Cooper's Hawks in Albuquerque, NM, seems appropriate for us in Seattle, as we, too now have a strong population of Cooper's, who are finding the urban environments to their liking for living and raising young. We also have some folks doing banding projects, recently finding a LOT of them to band. The NM banders are banding adults, but are using small transmitters on the young ones, so they can follow them for a couple of years to learn more about where they migrate to and/or whether or not they return to the same sites and territories each year.
