Now that I have looked at photos we took of the Red-throated Loons at Ocean Shores yesterday, I see that a number of them, both immatures and seemingly full adults, are in active wing molt, replacing their flight feathers. That?s what I have usually seen in RTLO in late summer at Ocean Shores.
