Examining sandpiper photos that Netta Smith took yesterday at the Ocean Shores game range, I found a fine juvenile Semipalmated Sandpiper in with the Westerns. I either didn?t see it or didn?t notice it among the many Westerns. I have seen extremely few Semipalmated in the game range over the years, perhaps just because they are lost among the many other peeps. I think they are a lot easier to find when there are only a few sandpipers to scrutinize, as at freshwater ponds.
