Dear Tweeters,
The other day I bumped into Blair Bernson, and he expressed interest in Ruffed Grouse. Today, 15 August 2015, I found them in two spots in Skagit County.?
Five RUGR flushed from the fishing trail across the highway and just upstream from the Sauk River Boat Launch, along the Rockport-Darrington highway. Later in the day, a single RUGR flushed along the trail beside the main ponds at Barnaby Slough.
It was a good day, despite intermittent showers. Other highlights included a Northern Shoveller and a Ring-necked Duck at Barnaby, a Peregrine and a Sharpie near Hamilton, two Black Swifts at Barnaby, an Eastern Kingbird at Barnaby, and a Rock Wren at the Sauk Boat River Launch.?
Yours truly,
Gary Bletsch
