> Karen and I saw the oft-reported Great Egret at Riverview Marsh at about noon today. We parked on Russell Road south of South 212th Street in Kent and crossed the footbridge, turned left onto Frager Road and proceeded south for about one block at which point we turned right onto the public path around the marsh. First we tried the not-too-obvious "viewing area" on the left about 100 yards along the path. It is marked with a red brick on the ground. We did not see the egret from this area which gives a very limited view of the marsh. So we proceeded around the marsh. Slightly over half way around the marsh we found a very large maple. The lack of brush under the maple allowed us to gain a limited north-looking view of the marsh. That is when we saw the egret.

Thanks to Ollie of Grace & Ollie for helping us find the path around the marsh.
