Well, here is another Mel's Video of the day, this time of a hummer. It
starts with her eggs and taking care of her young. Six minutes worth
watching. Louie Armstrong singing in the background isn't bad, either.

I need help, however. I thought ID'ing her would be easy, but now I am not
so sure. I think she is an Anna's, but she lacks the darker streaks on her
malar area. The lack of color of her central patch could be from the lack
of light. She does have a green tinge under her wings (55 seconds in) and
her lighter eyebrow appears right. The male lacks the head color ( at 1:43),
but that could be due to a lack of light, too. He may not actually be the
dad, either.

Maybe this video is from somewhere else in the world and she is not in my
Western Sibley's. Any confirmation/correction would be appreciated!

Joanne Moscato had the awesome experience of watching a hummingbird build
her nest to laying eggs, to the babies fledging. Joanne was very lucky to
have been able to see this every step of the way. She said it was a bitter
sweet experience, but she loved it.
