Interesting you should mention a boat.
I normally keep my boat in a Seattle marina until November.

The drought has lowered the lake level in L Wash. to late fall levels
as of mid-August with another 1-2 foot drop expected. I may have to
take my boat out this month for the season since there are no more
deeper slips at the marina. Will keep you posted. In fact, one option
I considered was instead of trailering it, to take the boat through
the locks and boat past Squaxin Island. That depends on water conditions.
