I spent a couple hours around high tide Friday afternoon/evening at Bill?s
Spit in Ocean Shores. As soon as I arrived I saw a juvenile Peregrine
Falcon that had just taken down a juvenile gull. I?ve posted a series of
short videos of the action (plucking feathers, eating, cleaning up,
stretching, calling) at this link:

I watched the Peregrine feed for about half an hour and then perch for
another hour; it finally flew off to a snag about ? mile away and was still
there when I left a half hour later.

I shot the videos using a Nikon D800 with a 500mm lens and 1.4x
teleconverter (so I wasn?t really as close as it might appear). It was also
windy so there?s a bit of jiggle in some of the video
I?m new to shooting
video so I?m still working/learning to prevent the wind-caused jiggles. I
was using an attached external microphone with a wind screen so at least the
wind noise was mostly eliminated.

I?ll post some still photos at the same link in the next day or two, when I
have a chance to go through them.

Hope you enjoy,
