Phil and Chris Anderson booked three pelagics for us during our conference at Ocean Shores this past week. Both Fridays and Saturdays were able to complete a full day?s trip. However, after a valiant effort to get out Sunday, we had to cancel because of increased wind and waves. This was after getting out about 10 miles. The leaders were able to led a field trip, for most, to Tokeland and Midway Beach, once we got back to shore. Highlights from these three trips include Flesh-footed Shearwater, Short-tailed Shearwater, Red Phalaropes, South Polar Skua, Cassin?s Auklet and Tufted Puffin. Mammal highlights included one Gray Whale, one Minke Whale and one Orca (on Sunday?s brief trip).
