With the lure of some less common peeps being reported at the Cedar River mouth, I made an early visit before work. No luck on the Baird?s or Semi-palmated Sandpipers, but there was plenty of activity to make the trip worthwhile. Most fun were a first summer Green Heron and a pair of Wilson?s Snipe that moved from cover out into the open for great sunlit views.

As always, encounters with other birders add to the enjoyment; Sarah P. early, then Evan H. later.
