Hello,

Yesterday, I enjoyed a fun morning of birding at Sprague Lake. The highlight
was a molting male INDIGO BUNTING, located about .6 mi west of the boat
launch on Max Harder Rd, north side of the road, across from a big rock
outcropping. I got very good looks at the bird for about 20 seconds, before
it flew off with a mixed flock of species about 75 yards away. I was unable
to locate the bunting. At the Sprague Lake Resort, I found 2 GREAT EGRETS,
Townsend?s, Orange-crowned, and Yellow- rumped Warblers, Lincoln?s Sparrow,
Western Wood Pewee, and Pacific Sloped Flycatcher. Shorebirds included
Western (1) and Leasts (2) Sandpipers, Solitary Sandpiper (1) and STILT
SANDPIPER (1). Among the gulls was a juvenile Bonaparte?s Gull and a basic
plumaged Franklin?s Gull and a Caspian Tern. There were 121 Red-necked
Phalaropes at the Sewage Lagoons and another 35 on the lake itself. 72
species just on the Lincoln side of the lake. A nice morning.

Blessings
