I've got an interesting one for you all. I was on my regular loop route back August 1st, but was running short of time and moving fast. I noted a perched bird atop of conifer, which on the fly (mine that is) I figured was just an AM. ROBIN, yet something seemed atypical--so I snapped a shot without even bringing my binocs up to look at it.

Funny how you look through a bunch of photos and sometimes you find something you weren't aware of at the time. So it is here--I've provisionally identified as an ORIOLE, sp. but then, if so, which one? The orange-yellow underparts, forecrown and face, black lores (you have to zoom & look closely), straight bill, general build and long tail all suggest oriole. But you be the judge. As you'll see, this is a poor photo but at least the foregoing details are there:

I tried a zoom (next photo in sequence) but generally there is just a lot of fuzz.

I'm interested in opinions out there in Tweeterland.
