Last night (Dec. 2) was the premiere showing of a superb documentary called "Racing Extinction", and it will be shown again this Sat. night from 9-11.

The film, by the Oscar-winning team that made "The Cove", chronicles the wave of species extinctions that is sweeping the planet. But even more, the film is about hope. You meet the inspiring people who are leading efforts to protect the wild - including Defenders of Wildlife Board member, "Joel Sartore, whose hauntingly beautiful photos capture the faces of imperiled wildlife." The film provides concrete actions you can take to address extinction crisis and keep the wild in our world.

And, yes, besides sealife, examples of land mammals, insects, amphibians and even birds (especially the Grasshopper Sparrow) are featured !

Check it out !
