Hi Tweets,

thirty of us enjoyed a very nice day at the Refuge with temperatures in the
40's degrees Fahrenheit, cloudy skies, and a High 15'1" Tide at 9:52am.
Highlights included a PEREGRINE FALCON, RUDDY DUCK, GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GOOSE, GREAT HORNED OWL brooding clutch, domestic type SWAN GOOSE/CHINESE
GOOSE, WESTERN MEADOWLARK, LINCOLN'S SPARROW, and RED-SHOULDERED HAWK. A
few of our birders reported hearing a Swamp Sparrow north of the Nisqually
Estuary Trail or new dike east of Leschi Slough. Another birder
photographed a Western Sandpiper on the boardwalk. Here is our eBird
report with photo's, including Red-shouldered Hawk and funky domestic gone
feral goose.

We had 74 species for the day, and I've got 178 species for the year on my
Wednesday walks. Mammals seen included Eastern Gray Squirrel, Harbor Seal,
California Sea Lion, Steller's Sea Lion and Columbia Black-tailed Deer.

Until next week when we meet again at 8am.

Happy birding,
Shep
