It was (and remains) a pretty yucky day for our monthly bird walk at JBLM
Eagles Pride Golf Course: constant rain from start to finish, but
fortunately no wind to speak of. The number of intrepid birders (8) was
pretty close to the number of bird species seen (11). At least we had a
congenial group of folks braving the elements. Everything seemed to be
hunkered down and not even making typical chip notes - even us! VARIED
THRUSHES outnumbered AMERICAN ROBINS, and the number of BUFFLEHEADS was 2/3
the total number of birds seen (21 vs 31). Sheesh.



This was the last bird walk of the year at Eagles Pride GC, and we now stand
at 102 species seen since we started this in April 2013.



The JBLM Eagles Pride GC birders meet the third Thursday of each month at
8:00AM. Starting point is Bldg # 1514, Driving Range Tee, Eagles Pride Golf
Course, I-5 Exit 116, Mounts Road Exit. Upcoming walks include the
