Touring around the Okanogan Highlands today.
-Gray Partridge (5 at Sidley Lake pullout with yellow porta-potty)-Wild Turkey (1 in Chesaw)-Northern Pygmy-Owl (a total of 6 birds in various locations)-Gray-crowned Rosy-finch (~50 at Nealey Rd feeders both in the morning & afternoon; several also at Nealey Rd night roost)-Pine Grosbeak (1 and then 4 more along Mary Ann Ck Rd south end)-Red Crossbill (flock of 40 north of Nealey Rd feeders)-WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL (flock of 20 birds near Nealey Rd feeders, 4 birds along Mary Ann Ck Rd near Poland China Rd)-Common Redpoll (flock of 125 along Chesaw Rd just east of Molson Rd; 80 along Hungry Hollow & Turner Homestead Rd)
It was good to see lots of Red-breasted Nuthatches as they seem to have gone awol in some areas on the westside. A female Ruddy Duck at Sidley Lake was a first for me in winter. No sign of the famed Chesaw Kingfisher.
Merry Christmas!
