Hi Tweets - did the CBC count on Queen Anne (Area 1b) today, with a small but knowledgeable and enthusiastic crew. Nothing too remarkable to report, but a fair number of Fox Sparrows responded to phisshing and playback in most of the bramble thickets next to the really cool parks around 'the Hill.' Probably the best bird of the day was one of (four) Western Scrub Jays reported by Tiffany Linbo on the same route last year. This bird flew into (what else) scrub, along the trail from 5th Ave N. up through Bhy Kracke (really!) Park. Also of possible note, was a quick flyby by a Sharp-shinned Hawk along the top of the bluff at Kinnear Park. Okanogan tomorrow. Have a Happy and Birdy New Year!!
