Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday February 4. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
at 503-233-3976.

The Nestucca NWR BEAN GOOSE, Astoria BLACK-HEAD GULL, Milwaukie
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, North Plains YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, and the
North bend HOODED ORIOLE and TENNESSEE WAARBLER were all seen during the
week. The Fern Ridge Reservoir SNOW OWL continues.

The TREE SWALLOW movement increased during the week. TURKEY VULTURES also
appear the be increasing.

On January 29 a SNOW BUNTING was at the North Jetty of the Siuslaw River.
The over wintering HEERMANN?S GULL and BROWN PELICANS continue at Coos Bay.
Fair numbers of PALM WARBLERS continue in Coos and Curry Counties. The Cape
Blanco NASHVILLE WARBLER is still being seen.

On January 29 a dozen GREAT EGRETS were along Sprague Road north of Mollala.
A white GLAUCOUS GULL was seen February 1 at Staats Lake north of Salem. On
February 2 two juvenile BARN SWALLOWS were in Salem. Up to 54 TRUMPETER
SWANS continue in the Airlie area southwest of Monmouth. A CINNAMON TEAL was
seen February 2 at the Philomath Sewage Ponds.

Good numbers of EVENING GROSBEAKS continue in the Bend-Redmond area. The
GYRFALCON east of Joseph continues. On January 29 a flock of PINE GROSBEAKS
were along McCully Creek near Joseph. One was at a feeder in Vale January
31.
