Hi all -

Just wanted to report that the White-breasted Nuthatch reported on the 6th was still present on Saturday. It was in with a mixed flock of birds [the only birds around when I was there around 2-3:00pm], and didn't vocalize or respond to my ipod playback. For what its worth, it was about halfway through the oak grove, towards the road side [south] of the area.

Interesting, in 1995 Patrick Sullivan wrote about this spot as a good spot for Pierce Co. White-breasted Nuthatch in a Washington Birder article. Good to see one has found the old haunts of the earlier range.....

> This afternoon, I found a White-breasted Nuthatch and 2 Acorn Woodpeckers in the oaks at Mountain View Cemetery towards Lakewood. Turn into main entrance to cemetery and turn left towards the church. Park in their lot and start walking towards the middle of the oaks. You are walking west towards the housing development.
