Many have vented their indignation and anger regarding the viewing of the owls at Eide Rd. A much more important matter is whether or not the Southern half of the habitat now occupied by owls, numerous other birds and other fauna will be inundated by changes in, or elimination of the dike that currently is in poor repair. The DFW and Ducks Unlimited will hold an open house to discuss the future of the Eide Rd (Lecque Island) site on February 25th at Stanwood Middle School at 6:30 to 8:30 pm.. I hope some of the passion that was brought to bear through the many letters concerning crowds, ethics and just plain rudeness is evident at this meeting. It would be nice to let DFW know how important this site is. This is particularly the case if you want to preserve the exisitng envrionment.
