Sherry and I went snowshoeing up at Paradise, Mt. Rainier today. We started with a few low clouds, and as the day went on, the clouds lifted bringing Mt. Rainier out in all's its glory. The snow levels are really low this year, and we had an unusually low species count of birds. A total of 3 species. Three RAVENS, 4 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, and at least 8 MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES (probably more), and that?s it. No Jays or Finches.
