I was up to Foulweather Bluff today, and I noticed that the salmonberries are already in flower, about a month ahead of schedule.? This troubles me, because normally, the male rufous hummingbirds return from migration at salmonberry blossom time, to set up feeding territories while waiting for the females.? So, if the salmonberries bloom now, and finish their short bloom cycle, but the hummers arrive on schedule... I foresee trouble...
