This afternoon I parked just past Salty's on Alki, West Seattle, and walked northwest along the waterfront looking for Surfbirds and Black Turnstones. Individual birds gathered into a small flock as they moved towards Duwamish Head on the incoming tide, eventually numbering five Turnstones and four Surfbirds. At high tide, around 5:15, they settled down opposite the 1027 Harbor Avenue condo. Pretty good photo opportunities.
