Also spotted a small group of White-throated sparrows browsing not far from
the parking lot near the boat launch at Magnuson Park on the 1st of January:

It's a tan-striped rather than the white-striped shown in your photo (so
I'd initially thought they were golden-crowned until I got home and looked
more closely at the pictures and my Sibley guide).
