I seem to remember someone asking about the location of said bird at the Fill. ?I stumbled across it today on the west end of "Paulsen Prairie," near the northeast corner of the "north blue forest." ?Site names directly from Connie's handy-dandy map posted on the kiosk near the CUH parking area. ?Its clear, cheerful note, repeated more than twenty times at about two second intervals made me think Black Phoebe at first. ?It was well off the trail, low in a scrawny little hawthorn standing out in the grass/blackberries. ?LOTS of Song and Lincoln's Sparrows in the immediate vicinity also. ?Seems like a really good year for SWSP--I had two up in Skagit yesterday--one at Hayton Reserve and another ?right by the (occupied) duck blind closest to the parking area at Eide Rd. ?That last a nice consolation prize for lack of Long-eared Owls...
