It?s actually three years in a row now for the Vashon Yellow-billed Loon. There was an albino Yellow-billed Loon, making it definitely the same individual, that showed up in Commencement Bay/Ruston for about 5-6 years in a row, 1998-2004

I remember a Yellow-billed Loon was reported at that same location last winter. It makes me wonder -- as I also expressed re: the Eurasian Wigeons at Bremerton -- whether the same individual vagrants come to the same locations year after year -- perhaps imprinting on a location.

The Yellow-billed Loon at Tramp Harbor was not seen midmorning today but finally put on a show at 11:45 as it struggled to prepare and swallow a large fish.
