Subject: [Tweeters] Where did all the creepers go?

The population in the Highlands area of Renton had plenty of youngsters this year. My mothers yard had a successful nest with 3 fledglings last summer and many more were seen and heard in various parks around my house. We do live pretty close to the foothills though.

I no longer have a breeding pair, at least, I haven't heard any juvies for about four years. I'm more concerned that there is lack of proper nest sites. I put up a creeper box, but it remains unused, and a Hairy Woodpecker started pounding on the creeper box last year, so I think that only bugs are using it now.

Anyone have successful breeding Brown Creepers?
