Lake Sammamish State Park, King, US-WA
Jan 27, 2015 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Protocol: Traveling
3.5 mile(s)
Comments: Sharon Aagaard and Stan Wood birded with 11 others at Eastside Audubon's monthly bird walk at Lake Sammamish State Park on Jan 27, 2015, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Skies were cloudy, with light misting starting at 11:00 am; 47-52F, 0-2 mph. HIGHLIGHTS : one SHARP-SHINNED HAWK; one COOPER'S HAWK; a female HAIRY WOODPECKER was seen and heard returning contact calls with a likely male nearby; one YELLOW-RUMP WARBLER (AUDUBONS); and several flocks of PINE SISKINS. 47 species for the day; and 47 species for the year. Critters: a weasel and several bunnies. The next bird walk is Friday, FEBRUARY 27. No pre-registration, just show up depending on your mood or the weather. Since this is a state park, a Discover Pass is necessary to park ($10 daily, $30 annual). We meet in the large parking lot to the left just inside the main park entrance, now signed as the Costco Parking lot, but we meet at the far end towards the lake (not the boat launch entrance).Submitted from BirdLog NA for Android v1.96.
47 species (+2 other taxa)
