For a number of years now, Frosh Pond at UW has hosted a pair of
Buffelheads. They are constantly diving and, I assume, getting something
to eat. But what? There used to be a fair number of small fish living in
the pond (thanks to the Frat boys), but they cleaned out the pond last
year, and I cannot detect any fish in there now. So what are these birds
finding and living on? I don't know if they spend the night on the pond,
but they are there from 9AM to 6PM at the least. Any suggestions?
Bob
