Right this second as I type at 4816 15th Avenue NW, across from Stoneway Hardware just off the north (northeast) side of the Ballard Bridge, a female MERLIN is eating away at a small bird atop a telephone pole. Not more than 15 ft away through the window! Seems out of season down here and unexpectedly close.
