Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

On June 27 a male COSTA?S HUMMINGBIRD visited a feeder along Elk River east
of Port Orford. A REDSTART is now being seen on the North Spit of Coos Bay.
On June 24 a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was at the St. Cloud Recreation Area
east of Washougal.

The first shorebird movement arrived during the week bringing many WESTERN
SANDPIPERS and GREATER YELLOWLEGS. A steady northward movement of HEERMANN?S
GULLS passed off Bayocean Beach June 27.

On July 1 a BREWER?S SPARROW was in a clearcut seven miles SE of Neskowin. A
FRANKLIN?S GULL was seen June 24 at Yaquina Bay. On June 28 an ANCIENT
MURRELET was at Seaside Cove.

On June 25 an ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER was photographed on Oak Island on
Sauvie Island. Four FORSTER?S TERNS were seen June 27 over Sturgeon Lake on
the island. The Pittock Mansion WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was seen again July
1. Two BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS are now being seen on Larch Mountain east of
Portland. On July 1 a WHIMBREL and a MEW GULL were at Fern Ridge Reservior,

On June 27 two MOCKINGBIRDS were photographed at the Painted Hills National
Monument.
