Subject: [Tweeters] Ridgefield NWR shorebirds

Tweeters,

An early morning trip to Ridgefield NWR in Clark County yielded a few
shorebirds on a mostly dried up Rest Lake:

Killdeer: 15
Least Sandpiper: 35
Western Sandpiper: 7
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER: 1
Greater Yellowlegs: 1
Wilson's Snipe: 1

In addition to the almost complete lack of water, a young Peregrine walking
around on the dried mud of the lake kept shorebird numbers down. I doubt
if there will be any water after the next five hot and dry days.

Keep your eyes and ears skyward.

Jim
