Hello Caitlin - You can look for recent sightings of particular species
at http://birdingwashington.info/dashboard/

It shows four sightings within the last two weeks of Black-backed
Woodpecker: one at Bethel Ridge, one at White Pass, one at Government
Meadows (King County) and one at Loup Loup Campground.

It shows four sightings also of American Three-toed Woodpecker. They are
somewhat far-flung: Husum highlands, Salmo Pass, north of the Mount
Baker Highway in Whatcom County, and at Clover Flat Campground on the
Middle Fork of Ahtanum.

Good luck tracking these down!
