Mitch and Tweeters,

For birding around Sunriver or anywhere in Oregon, I would strongly recommend the ?Birding Sites in Oregon? website, maintained by the East Cascades Audubon Society. The URL of this website is http://birdingoregon.info/Home/tabid/143/Default.aspx . It has a page for each county, which generally lists from 10 to 50 birding locations in each county. On the homepage, there is a map showing all the Oregon counties, although the map does not seem to be working at the moment. When it is, you can click on the county in the map, and be taken directly to its webpage. There is also a list of all the counties below the map, and you can click on the county name in this list. Sunriver is in Deschutes County; when you get to that county, you will see that there is a list of 40 (!) birding locations, with lots of information on each location.

Alternatively, you can go directly to the Deschutes County webpage at http://birdingoregon.info/Home/DeschutesCounty/tabid/168/Default.aspx .

The ?Birding Sites in Oregon? website ought to be in the ?favorites? of anyone who ever plans to go birding in Oregon!

Hello, I am vacationing in Sunriver, OR from August 1-8. I was wondering if anybody has any places they suggest in the area. Also, I am curious if Klamath is worth the drive from Sunriver in August. Feel free to contact me off thread. Thanks for any tips and ideas and Good birding!
